David Walliams launches literacy campaign

19 08 2015

Comedian, actor and children's author David Walliams has launched a literacy campaign alongside education minister Nicky Morgan, aiming to make English students the 'most literate in Europe' by providing funds to The Reading Agency to set up 200 book clubs in schools across the country and work with schools to ensure that all Year 3 students are enrolled at their local library.

Walliams commented 'Books fire children's imaginations like nothing else can. In a world of the constant distractions of television and computer games, it is more important than ever to encourage youngsters to read'.
